SCALE Plan respects the privacy of visitors to its website. Visitors are not asked for any personal information except potentially for registration in order to access free downloads and enquiry requests made via our contact form.  The responsibility for the control of data received through this website rests with James Dewar-Haggart who may be contacted using one of the methods given on our Contact page.

For contact purposes personal information may be limited to only your name and contact details, including your telephone number and email address. The data you provide may be processed for the purposes of answering your enquiry and offering, marketing or selling relevant services to you. There is no statutory requirement for you to provide us with any data.  The data you provide will also be used for the purpose of ensuring the effective performance of our website, its security, maintaining back-ups of our databases and communicating with you.  The legal basis for this processing is your consent given when completing our enquiry form. You may withdraw your consent for us to process your data in this manner and opt-out of this agreement at any time by making use of the 'unsubscribe' link at the foot of any information you receive from us via email or by contacting us using any of the methods given in our Contact page.  We will provide you with copies of any of your personal data we hold or process upon application.  Personal data is held indefinitely, however, we will erase any of your personal data that we hold as soon as is reasonably practicable upon any such request you may make.

For registration for membership purposes, personal information may be limited to only your name, chosen username, password and email address. By registering for Membership you are 'opting-in' to receive selective information specifically relating to Membership with SCALE Plan. The data you provide may be processed for the purposes of initiating the full membership process, answering any enquiries and offering, marketing or selling relevant services to you.  There is no statutory requirement for you to provide us with any data.  The data you provide will also be used for the purpose of ensuring the effective performance of our website, its security, maintaining back-ups of our databases and communicating with you.  The legal basis for this processing is your consent given when completing our registration form and/or registering to download documents and information from this website.  You may withdraw your consent for us to process your data in this manner and opt-out of this agreement at any time by making use of the 'unsubscribe' link at the foot of any information you receive from us via email or by contacting us using any of the methods given in our Contact Us page.  We will provide you with copies of any of your personal data we hold or process upon application.  Personal data is held indefinitely, however, we will erase any of your personal data that we hold as soon as is reasonably practicable upon any such request you may make. Access to the pages on our website that are available to the general public can be viewed without registering, log-ins, passwords or payment.  Access to those pages reserved for the use of Members requires registration and the entering of a valid username and password.

This site requires cookies and JavaScript to be enabled to work correctly and for security purposes. The legal basis for our use of cookies is to ensure the correct functioning of our website.  A cookie is a nugget of information that a Web server gives to your browser and vice versa. A cookie cannot find out any personal information about you (such as your email address) or identify the contents of your hard disk or transmit a computer virus. This site only makes use of 'session cookies' and no information is stored to the hard disk of computers accessing this site as a consequence of the scripting languages used by the site. JavaScript is a scripting language used to manipulate information displayed in a browser window. JavaScript does not allow the reading or writing of files on a client machine (except to the browser's cookie file for the duration of the 'session'). It cannot therefore introduce viruses to your computer or change or remove data from your computer.

SCALE Plan may also capture (for example, via Google analytics) such information from its website visitors such as referring URL, ISP, browser type, geographical location, length of visit, navigation paths, timing of your visit and the pages visited. These data are used for statistical purposes only and to assist us in assessing website performance.  The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate business interest of monitoring our website performance and improving both this and our service offerings.

Email addresses (and any other information provided) are maintained in secure, encrypted and password protected databases. These data are stored at our website’s datacentre which is based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.  No data will be transferred to or held at a location outside of the EU or the United Kingdom.  No personal information provided will be passed on to third parties, save as may be required by law, and will not be used for any purpose other than those mentioned above except where this is specifically stated and provided for with your knowledge and consent.

Messages sent via email may not be secure. We recommend you do not send any confidential information to us via email. If you choose to do so, this is at your own risk and with the prior knowledge that a third party may be able to intercept this communication.

General Data Protection Regulations (“GDPR”) & the Storage and Processing of Members’ Data

In order to provide services to our members, SCALE Plan requires information relating to their lifestyle, personal goals and objectives, information relating to health and other biometric data.  These data constitute ‘Sensitive Personal Data’ as defined in the GDPR.  These data and required on order that SCALE Plan may deliver services to its members and this is the legal basis upon which SCALE Plan gathers, stores and processes these data. By becoming a Member of SCALE Plan, members give SCALE Plan their express consent to gather and make use of these data for these purposes.  Unless required by law, SCALE Plan will not release any of these data to any third-party without the express of the member to whom these data relate.

SCALE Plan takes all reasonable steps to ensure the security and confidentiality of the data it gathers from members and in its storage and processing. These data will be stored indefinitely but will be deleted from SCALE Plan’s active databases 24 months after an individual ceases to be a Member.

Access to Data

A Member may access all data held by SCALE Plan that relates to him or her by submitting a correctly completed Subject Access Request (“SAR”) as detailed in the GDPR.  In the event of any such request, SCALE Plan will respond to the request within one calendar month of its receipt.  In certain cases, SCALE Plan may request clarification of the exact nature of the data requested and where it is likely to be found.  A member has the right for any erroneous data to be corrected and also has the right to have some or all data relating to him or her to be permanently deleted.
